Default G'day from the Gold Coast

Hi Everyone!

Just found the forum while Googling for XF info and found your site

I recently bought a two-and-a-half year old XF 2.2 Diesel to 'test the water' on the new Jags - the 'old' Jags have a bit of a reputation for reliability (especially overheating), so I wanted to try one out without spending too much of my hard-earned...

I see there's a few Jag owners in Queensland, so hopefully I'll hear from those guys and maybe catch-up at the All-British show later in the year!

Drive Safe!

Welcome.

Reliability issues, maaaaate, its all smoke and mirrors to keep the prices down so we mere mortals can afford em.

Clarke will slide in eventually and toast your arrival.

G'day Grant!

The XFs my first Jag; my elder brother has always been a Jag fanatic, but was the one who kinda put me off them - but this one's a bloodybewdymate! (except for this vibration I can't seem to track down...).

Cheers!

I am biased fortunately.

Drove an E55AMG the other day, awesome, but its NOT a Jag, not even close.

The XF boys should be able to assist with the vibration, but remember thr "Compression Ignited" beasts are not in the US of A, so Europe, and UK members will be on it when the time zones line up.

I have NO idea, not a Diesel fan. Unless its the Road Tarin, but thats not for here.

Welcome to the forum, nudging about 90 members in Qld, and quite a few in Northern Rivers, NSW.
All British day is bit off yet, but some of us are meeting up for the Euro day at lakeside Raceway in a few weeks if you are interested.

There may be other outings before ABD, all depends on who wants to do something. Gold Coast has been suggested as the next meet.

Ta Steve! (like your XK BTW...!) :-)

Funny you mention the Merc - a mate of mine Tony and his missus were looking at buying an E-Class Merc, drove a few and thought the rear-seats weren't very comfortable - tried an XF and fell in love... Then I did too and bought mine a few weeks later!

@ Grant: This diesel suits me fine - surprisingly quick for a car of it's size, especially an oil-burner! - and is cheap to run

The vibration isn't the engine, it appears to be drivetrain-related: I've aligned, rotated, balanced (many times) and even put new tyres on - still get a vibration - at 110-120km/h the whole car is shaking... It's booked in on Monday, and I'm trying to convince the dealer to 'lend' me a set of wheels so I can rule out the wheels once and for all...

@Clarke: Hi! - would be happy for an earlier catch-up - Lakeside would be cool (I'm away over easter tho')

Euro day is two weeks after Easter, If you are interested there is still a fair number of VIP packages available for the day. It gives you entry, track cruises, show and shine, and an undercover pit bay. You can also book for the track challenge. 34by151 has booked a the track challenge, and I think I'm going to give the old XJ6 a punt around at speed too. Just waiting to see on the day if it is a dry track.

If you are interested you can book and request a bay alongside the ones we already have booked(4) . I can PM you the names we have booked under.
