New Jag owner here. The first of many post is my guess. I have a XK8 2001 with 129k. FIrst question are Jaguar OEM Parts worth the cost? I know somethings probable are. Specifically Struts and strut mounts. While I'm on the subject are there kits that come with the strut, spring, and mount already assembled? I've seen them for other cars but so far have not located one for the XK8. Second question. In the manual that was obviously written 17 years ago. It states that hooking up any kind of code reader other than one supplied by Jaguar could disable the car is this true?

The question of OE or aftermarket depends on the particular parts you need. Genuine Jaguar parts are often available from our sponsors at considerably lower prices than the dealer network. Secondly, you can safely connect other code readers to your XK8.
