Glad To have Found You!!!
Well, I seem to have entered in backwards and through the rear door so to speak by posting first and now saying hello second. Many apologies.
I've been a Jaguar admirer since High School in the mid 1970's and bought my first Jag in 2007 which was a 14,000 mile 2003 XJ8 VDP in Carnival Red. I still have it with now 135,000 miles. Sadly, while the body is in MINT MINT condition, as is the interior except for a terribly split drivers seat and about 18 splits on most of the veneer, it has gotten rather expensive to keep up with the more than minor mechanical issues.
So, what do you do? Clearly search for another one!! Since I LOVE this model year and not the downsized aluminum body introduced in late 2003/2004 my search took a while to find another one with under 50k miles until yesterday.
So now I still have my Red VDP and it's long lost brother, a Jan 2002 manufactured 2003 XJ8 VDP in Charcoal with only 48,000 mile that inside and out and underneath and under the hood, looks like it just rolled off the assembly line as it's been garaged kept all it's life and serviced by Jag up until one year ago.
I may sadly simply trade the Red one in towards the purchase of a used Volvo XC60 for my daughter, but the thought of only getting around $5,000 for it is very very painful based on what I've put into it. Oh well....we will see what happens but I am thrilled with the "NEW" car.
Any thoughts on what I should look for in this low mileage but still 2003 car before I put it fully on the road are welcome.

Welcome to the forum Jeff,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. You got here and that's what matters.
Your XJ8 looks superb in Charcoal - it really suits the body style.
I can see you've already found your way to the X308 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the USA North East Region forum by following this link USA North East - ME NH VT MA RI CT NJ NY PA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
