GlenF - just arrived
Hi, I am new to both the forum and Jaguar ownership. I have just bought a 1979 XJ6 SIII that is probably well known in the QLD circuit racing and historic racing scene. It's not lacking in character as I am learning. My objective is to repair some of the "character" and prepare her for registration and tackle the Endeavour Super rally this year, effectively traversing every bit of dirt (and some tarmac) between Ipswich, Uluru, and back to Stanthorpe. About 4000KM in total. I looked at too many options for a ride to mention, but when all was said and done, the Jag looks sweet, and I am sure will provide no end of entertainment (read, "trials"). I have zero knowledge or experience with Jags, but I bought a Haynes book, and have Google at the ready. As someone once said.... "How hard can it be?"
Safe travels.
Glen

Hello, Glen,
I Luv your attitude! "How hard can it be." Indeed!
It sounds like a Very ambitious rally, especially for Mercans, but it's probably a cake walk for Aussies. We have some other members from QLD (and other parts of Oz), they'll be along any minute now to show you the ropes.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Glen, I added you to the Qld roll call yesterday.
Would your new to you Jag be the white ex Murray Scoble circuit car that was for sale recently on gumtree. Apparently a very capable car, it holds a few class records.
If so, I saw it at the Leyburn Sprints and Morgan park raceway.

Welcome to the forum Glen,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the XJ6 Series I, II & III forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
