Default From GM to Jag - good move!

Hi all. I've just bought my first Jag, an X300 XJR after spending my formative years on Opels and Vauxhalls. Now that I'm a mature driver at 28 I thought it best to get something more sedate, then I thought better of it and bought the XJR - good move I reckon! It's in need of some TLC but seeing as I own a motor factors I should be well placed to sort the car properly! Pics will follow after a quick polish

Good choice :-). The X300/XJR does many things well and, as used cars go, offers a lot of car for little money.

Cheers
DD

Welcome to the forum entwistlecymru,

Why wait so long to get your first Jaguar.

I can see you've already found your way around here so no need for links.

Enjoy the X300 and the forum.

Graham

Just to keep all you guys informed, I've spent well into 4 figures getting the old girl right. I've replaced every bush front to back, all 4 shocks, bearings, ball joints, Andy Stodarts front ARB links, engine mounts, calipers, discs and pads all round, another AS product - the 'Andy bracket', given her a full service - engine, SC, gearbox, diff and brake fluid - 4 new boots on refurbed wheels and a new exhaust. The only job left to is fit new lambda sensors too cure rich running and then I'll be happy!

The only downside being the rotten bulkhead which we found when fitting a new windscreen. If the car lasts me another year or so I have a really interesting project which will use all of the running gear, so none of my hard-earned will go to waste!

Pics to follow...........
