Got my E on BAT
Hi all,
I'm an old retired coot from NC who has lusted after a Brit, particularly a Jag,for quite a long while, say fifty years give or take. I may have been drawn to the 140/150 some more than the later model due to more experience but it was surely the Jag than the TR's that mostly drew my eye. Maybe a year and a half ago garage space freed up so the look began with more fervency but twas no right at the time 150,at least for me. Maybe it was the FHC..but having a roof was fine by me in fact preferred. Anyway, nothing appeared..but lo how inspired I became by a fellow F-chatter's success with his acquisition of a georgeous '64 FHC black over red beauty via BAT..I did not bid here but oh how the finger did twitch. Then lo again,a mere month later this other "most beautiful car ever" per Enzo himself, came up on BAT and I did some maths..and after the dust settled,a lot of settling actually,I got an E.
It has been glorious..and a wonder..and a joy..and,huh,fun. What else is it for...?
I'll get a pic,or some pics,up when I learn more ropes..and tell what I've done with it,or to it ( I only have to put "s" in Google and Barrett appears) and ask for counsel when required..I've learned stuff here even already,so thanks..I'll be around and back.
Cheers,
RE

Welcome to the forum Hoodude,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. I'm with you on a preference for coupes.
It sounds like you've already found your way to the E-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link US Lower Atlantic - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham

Welcome!
Welcome Hoodude,
Great looking car. Be sure to post more pictures soon.
A neighbour of my dad's had an E type when I was a boy and we would load up and ride on pretty weekend days. I'd sit in the back behind the seats. My dad gave me a flying helmet and goggle's that he said were his as a boy, but I suspect he picked them up at a sale day with me in mind.
I still can hear in my mind the sound of those prominent exhausts when he got off the gas in gear before downshifting. I can't for the life of me remember his name, but I'll never forget those rides in that car.
Enjoy her, and take some child for a ride. Create some lasting memories and perhaps plant a seed of enthusiasm that mybe won't take 50 years to come to fruition for them.
