Default Greetings - backyard mechanic seeking the Jaguar Oracle!

Hi - just joined from Wendell, NC.

Just picked up a 97 XK8 with tons of problems, but beautiful exterior and interior and almost new top in working order. Thought it would be a good winter project.

I look forward to meeting the forum members through my querries. Hope to not offend - I will search the threads before I post.

Jamie

Hello, Jamie,
You're the second person in 2 days who's come in here afraid of causing offense! Usenet must be getting Really Brutal!

The only way you could cause offense is to be rude, demanding and/or unappreciative. Other than those few things, we're a very friendly group, understanding of those just now learning the ropes, as we were there ourselves; some of us not that long ago.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Jamie,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Follow Norri's link in post #4 to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Welcome Jamie,
I used the forum extensively to get my XK8 back into the shape she is in now. Whatever the issue is there are several members that have gone through it before you. Good luck with your project, keep us posted, and ask for help when you need it.

Thanks to everyone for your warm welcome! I am not very versed with forums, but it seems to have the feel of the old school dialup BBs systems I used to play with in younger days.

I think I got a pic in my signature - but I still need to research how to modify my login details so I don't have to use my facebook login - that seems to have issues on my Galaxy tab, and sometimes I get timeouts from my PC when tryign to log in using facebook. I need to find out if I can just log in with a username and password.

Off to the forums! Once again, thanks for the welcome!

Jamie,

The usual issue with pics not showing is because they are over the size limits. The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 9.8 KB (whichever is smaller).

Did you use the Create a Site Account option or go direct to Fast Sign In?

Hi - yes, the image size seems to be an issue...I'll need to figure out how to reduce my pic size...don't have any image editing tools on this PC....isn't there vbulletin plugins to autosize uploads? Maybe the sysop could check..

I did use the fast login - should I create another account to just get a site based username and password?

Jamie
