Greetings from Dayton, Ohio
Hello fellow Jaguar owners, My name is Michael but most people call me Big Mike. My entire life I have been in love with European cars, while my focus has been almost entirely Volkswagen and Audi, I have always loved Jaguar and even did 3 high school and college papers on the company. Last year I finally had the opportunity to purchase one of my dream cars, a 2001 Jaguar XJ8L Vanden Plas. To me this car has it all with a 300hp V8 and extended wheelbase, this car is meant for Monarchs and Dictators with it’s beautiful white leather and walnut trim. I found the car in Columbus and immediately went to see it. The car had originally been purchased in Miami, Florida and had passed through the hands of 2 doctors until it finally ended up in the hands of a small business owner who had no idea what he had and was letting his nephew use the car. I knew immediately that I had to rescue this car and give it the love and attention it needed. So I drove it home that day. While my time owning this car has been quite a challenge and adventure, I have finally reached the point to where the car is nearing its complete overhaul. You see, growing up my grandfather had an old Roll Royce Silver Cloud and I remember how beautiful that car was inside and out and how much I absolutely loved going to cars show with him in it and the beautiful Sunday drives to get ice cream. That car meant the world to me and that’s why I bought my Jaguar. I’ll keep it as long as I live and make it as beautiful as it should be so my kids and nephews and someday grandkids will be able to experience what I did with my grandpa growing up. So they can understand that things that are beautiful and luxurious require hard work but are always worth it. That why I bought My Jaguar and that’s why I’ll never get rid of it.
Thank you,
Thank you,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. I'm always delighted to read about a dream held for so long turning out to meet all expectations.
I can see you've already found your way to the X308 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
