Greetings! My 87 XJ6 and me
Greetings,
I am Phil and a recent proud owner of an 87 XJ6, named "Sophie Blue" by her former owner in Savannah, GA. Kevin advertised Sophie Blue as his golf and date car, and I am using the car in the same regimen.
Sophie Blue is a 1987 XJ6 and the first Jag that I have owned. She is cream white with a dark blue interior and sleeps in a neighbor's garage right now parked over a kitty litter tray. I drive her at least every 2 weeks unless I am away. She is in good shape and quite original. A/C has been upgraded to 134 and the sound system refreshed for blue tooth phone connectivity. No rust on the car, original paint, and no tears on the interior. On the other hand, electrical charging circuit seems to have a mind of its own, lots of oil and trans fluid leaks, a sagging headliner, some minor dash wood cracks, and inop cruise control.
I am retired living in paradise in Naples, SW Florida, USA. Born in Ohio and joined the Navy after high school. Graduated from Annapolis and served in nuclear submarines as my career including Captain of a fantastic nuclear submarine (SSN). Living in SW FL to help out older relatives and work on my golf game. Sophie Blue is my third car and my toy. I've often had an extra car to toy with and an XJ6 has been on my bucket list for years.
Many thanks to the experts and administrators on our forum! Shared knowledge on forums has been a great help for me and I have offered my help sometimes. I like the DIY and the friendships that it brings, even when I have to rework, redo, and repay!

Hello, Phil,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
How appropriate it's parked over kitty litter. It IS, after all a Jaguar, which are Known to mark their territory!
If there isn't an oil spot under one, you Know it hasn't been parked there very long.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forums Phil,
Good to have you with us.
I can see you've already found your way to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.
The red link at the bottom of my post will explain why you cannot PM Doug.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham
