Greetings from Upstate NY!
Hi Everyone,
My name is Garrison Roberts and I live in upstate NY, in Saratoga Springs. I'm primarily a software architect, but I also work part-time with my mechanic, Colin. He worked on the crew of a winning F1 team in '78, then as a Rolls mechanic for years, and now he works on primarily rare classics - cool stuff like an old '70s Bentley; '59 Cadillac; shortly we'll be putting the original engine back into a '54 XK... things like that. He found me when I was tooling around in my '83 Mercedes diesel (now my wife's), and asked me if I'd like to pitch in on his projects.
Anyhoo - he maintained an '02 XJ8 for an older gentleman for years, and after we replaced the fuel pump this summer, it went up for sale and I grabbed it. Now I'm here with you guys!
( BTW that fuel pump job was about one of the worst things either of us had ever been through, so change your fuel filters!! When they get older and clog up, the pump works too hard and can fail. You sure don't want to find yourselves in that place. )
So my wife named the car "The Dutchess", and she has 149k miles on her now. Already your posts have helped me understand quite a few things and navigate some of the small problems I've had. Thanks to everyone for your knowledge, your time, and your spirit of generous helpfulness!

Welcome to the forum Garrison,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
It sounds like you've already found your way to the X308 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the USA Northeast Region forum by following this link US Northeast - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham

Thanks everyone, I will put up a pic when I get a chance. @Elinor, you're not kidding about the "comes with a mechanic" - maybe about as close to owning a Rolls as one gets, lol! Love that Series II in your signature.
I have my subwoofer pulled and a new foam ring on order just this weekend thanks to threads on that topic. I have also been perusing the coolant leak and heater core flush threads, and look forward to adding my insight once I have resolutions in those areas!
Cheers,
Garrison
