Default Hello from Aberdeen Scotland

Hi loving the site I really hope someone could help with a problem I have.I recently bought a 2007 S-type 2.7 Diesel it has a couple of small faults I am currently working on.
The main problem I need help with is when I leave the car sitting for a short while (around 20 mins) the central locking won't work with the keyfob nothing on the fob works at all. When I use the key in the drivers door the alarm goes off horn is not sounding but hazard lights flash (maybe horn was disconnected by previous owner).
Once key is in ignition alarm resets and the fob works perfectly until I park up and the problem persists.
I hope some of you guys could help me out with this annoying problem.
Thanks in advance
Jim

Welcome to the forum Jim,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

The sequence you describe is correct for a European specification security system when the door is unlocked without first disarming so the conclusion has to be the fob is not transmitting the disarm signal.

Follow this link
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link
