Hello all - New member
Hi everyone,
I'm a new member here and currently reside in the metro Detroit area. I possibly purchased (prepare for gasps and horrified glances) the cheapest XJS HE V12 on the market last year and much to my wife's dismay a 2000 X308 XJR with 139k miles. People say im a glutton for punishment, but both cars had 0 rust; the XJR was incredibly well maintained with a binder of service records an inch thick; however, it needs a respray and the headliner is beginning to sag. The XJS required several repairs and only recently did it begin to overheat; therefore, ill be changing out the entire cooling system either this winter or by next spring and need to replace all the engine seals. Ive sunk a fair amount of cash into both cars over the last ten months, but i see my projects slowly coming to fruition.
What annoys me most about the XJS is the lack of window actuators and motors available. Really wish there was a modernized part we could use. Also has anyone stemmed their valve seats on a XJS?
Im very pleased to join you all and thankful to have already spoken with a few highly knowledgeable and helpful members.

Welcome to the forums TheDraconicWolf,
Good to have you with us.
I can see you've already found your way to the model forums so there's no need for links from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of each is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also use the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

Many thanks! I suppose you're correct; will use that statement next time she inquires!
Welcome. I only have the 4, and with this last one I think a better title for her might be CEO as in Chief Enabling Officer. Make one work and let her use it. Jaguar is a bad habit but Elinor is right- your wife know where you are !

Welcome to the Forums.
That is considered "normal" down here.
No need to "tell" the wife anything to do with YOU, she already knows, trust us all on that one. Mine is "the Minister for Everything", and it works well.
Well done on both cars, very intelligent Jaguar purchases.
