Hey everyone, I've been lurking here for awhile without an account, but I had some free time today with all this snow, so I thought I'd join.

My name is Nathan and I'm a 17 (turning 18 in a couple weeks) year old senior in high school and my '02 X-Type is my first car. I acquired it back in November with my summer job money and it's consumed most of my time ever since.

At my school we have to choose a project to work on all year, and since my X-Type has a lot of issues, I chose to make repairing it my senior project. I'm hoping you guys could help me out in the future, I'm planning on posting a lot!

I know the bare basics of automotive workings, so sorry in advance if I leave something out or don't explain it thoroughly enough.

Some things I have already done/plan to do with the car:

Done:
-Installed a Pioneer DEH-X6500BT receiver, MTX TNE212D Subwoofer, and Boss R1100M Amp (Planning on upgrading in the future)
-Replaced the driver side marker light and bulb
-Used OBD II bluetooth reader to scan for engine codes

Planning:
-Install Pioneer TS-A1675R speakers in each door with 3/4" MDF spacers
-Get the CEL to go away
-Fix many other issues (I'll make a post somewhere else)

My dad has a lot of experience working on cars, so once I have the problems diagnosed and pinpointed, labor shouldn't be too big of an issue (father/son bonding time, right?) unless the problem can only be taken care of by a dealer.
