Default Hello fellow enthusiasts!

Good Morning dear friends, as you all well know, these cars are expensive, and maintenance is as well. I own an 09 XF that I love and I like to service her myself, instead of getting screwed at the dealership. I found the SDD for Jaguar, but to get into it for diagnostics, a locksmith or NASTF membership is required. I am neither of those! I am a lowly ole mathematician who does not care about making money, so I am hoping someone could please help me out by getting me into the website so I can fix the timing by relearning the ckp and css ======= I like to keep the engine running right, so I cleaned the valves, and when I did I had to rotate clockwise to close the valves. Now, these sensors are supposed to relearn themselves, but they do not. She still runs smooth, --- passed 1500 rpms--- the idle has become rough, and this due to the sensors not running in tune with the timing chain. Does anyone have a membership that would be able to let me in for a day or two? I posted the screenshots of the websites. I hope someone out there can help me! The dealer wants to screw me for too much money that I just can not afford right now!

Welcome to the Forums.

I suggest a re-ask of the Tech part of your problem in the XF (X250) Tech Section.

Members there will have answers and advice.

Good luck.

Before you go any further, let me be be clear about the way this forum works. We do NOT bash Jaguar Dealers. They are not "screwing" you. They offer servicing and repairs at factory determined timings with associated labour rates. It is entirely up to you to choose whether or not to use them.

To get into Jaguar SDD, a subscription is required. This is payable by the hour, day, week, month or year but there are other ways to run it.

Graham

Well just so you know, the last time I went to service my Jag at the dealership, I left with a slashed radiator. Yes, a slashed radiator. What is a slashed radiator you ask?
Well, I always reinspect my car when I leave after every service, (little did the people at the dealership know), and this time when I came home I noticed the foam on the side of my radiator was torn. Hmmm.. I thought to myself. Removing the foam to then see the side of the radiator had a slash on it. Nothing was wrong with the car, it was driving fine, so I continued to drive and it and everything was fine. About two months later I'm rushing because I am late and I pull into my parking spot and radiator fluid was gushing out of the bottom. I go to inspect and sure enough, the slash was the culprit. You can say that I am bashing but I disagree. These guys need to make money so they obviously will stop at nothing. Needless to say, honesty is the best policy regardless what you do, and I did not go back nor will I ever. The dealership service department tried to screw me and were successful, so I will bash and bash and bash and bash. That doesn't mean that I don't love my car. That means that I got screwed...

I wasn't starting debate. I was telling you the way this forum works and the accepted standards. You will NOT do your dealer bashing here. If you choose to return after the 7 Day Ban, either understand that or I will make the ban permanent.

Such a shame. He clearly had so much to contribute.
