Hello Jaguar fans:),Jaguar STR 2005
Hello everyone, I ve been a silent reader of the forum and for sure I was able to find tons of usefull information.
I become an active member because I need help.
I bought this Jaguar STR 2005 with almost 90 000 miles on it. Fully serviced untill 2011 at a Jaguar place. they replaced the tranny at 74000 miles for erratic gear changes.
Shortly after buying the car the check engine light came on.
I bought a scanner with life data and pulled the fuel rich codes.P0172/P0175.
I replaced airfilter, took off MAF sensor and cleaned it up with special spray.put it back on. light stayed off for a tank or so of fuel then came back on.
I decided to write down the life data and here I need your help
numbers are as follows:
idling
ST1-varies from -7 to 0
LT1- -3.6
ST2--3
LT2- -4
Fuel pressure 378 KPA
MAP-27
MAF- 5-6
TPS 8.2
o2S12 0.15
o2S22 0.1
driving between 1500 RPM to 2500RPM
ST1 +9 to -7
LT1 -20
ST2- -2
LT2 -14 to -20
Fuel pressure 375 KPA, MAP 48
ABS tps- 5 %
o2S1 0.13 to 0.09
O2S22 0.15
and a curios thing. when not in gear and accelerating to 2000-3000 RPM the MAF varies from 5-6 to 30-40 in metric measuring units.
when in gear and i pushed down, but the engine doesnt rev too much lets say goes from 1200 to 1600 the MAF goes in 3 digits to 120!!!
What this means? obviously when not in gear it s a big discrepancy!
Also when I scan the computer anomalies appear, like the oil light is on, the navigation screen shows: Comunication fault, contact your dealer.
All this weird messages go away when I take off the scanner, and turn the light off. Sometimes I need to disconnect the battery to come back to normal.
Please any input will be usefull.
Thank you

Welcome! *secret handshake* These are great cars if maintained. Sounds like you have an understanding of what makes them tic. Be sure to evaluate the battery. A lot of electrical issues disappear after replacing a suspect battery.
