Default Hello from the midwest ('03 Type S V8)

Hello all! So just got myself a used '03 Type S last week and have been perusing the forums for what to expect as the new daddy. Seems to run fine, I've ran it to Omaha and back, but I've noticed a few things:

1) I've gotten a "Low coolant level" warning, but it didn't look low. Regardless, I topped it until I got it again. Hoping it was just a sensor issue, I checked it again, but sure enough, coolant was low

2) Boot sensor always think the trunk is open. Where is the sensor so I can work with it?

I'll dive into the S forums later, ask the same thing, but at the moment, it's an awesome drive. POWER compared to my last car ('94 civic).

Sig - I'll work on that when I get permissions

Welcome Alex, and greetings from the Midwest Region of the forum. There are certainly always 'issues' when buying a 10 year old car, but hopefully your participation here will not only make remedying them that much easier, but also that much more fun. We Jaguar owners really try and take care of our cars, so you're in good company! Check in with the S-Type folks and get started!

cheers,
Scott

Welcome to the forum Alex,

Good to have you here with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you probably already know the way to the tech section but if not, follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details. There's no waiting for permissions for this - it's available to you straightaway.

You can also follow Scott's link to visit the US Mid West Region section to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Thanks guys. I'm looking forward to getting this thing back to where it should be in terms of mechanics. It hurt to see my last car go the way it did. I learned my lesson(s) though.

Sorry it's been awhile, but I was out of town.

Quick question...do all jags have wood interiors, and if so, are they different colors? I've noticed that my dash, wheel, and center console are noticeably lighter than the wood on the doors. I'll dig around the forum if other people have noticed this.

edit: My sig didn't show up

Alex,

Not all Jaguars have wood interiors, some have a carbon fibre option.

Those with wood can have different veneer options but, whatever is fitted, the veneer should match for type and colour in the whole vehicle. Fading can occur in hot climates but any definite non matching is probably due to replacement sections fitted by a PO.

Your Signature '2003 S-Type V8' is showing in the Moderator Control Panel so it should appear with your next new (not edited) post.
