Default Hello from Spain

I Have lived in Spain for 14 years and I have a 1992 XJ6 LHD which I bought 8 years ago. After using it for 4 years, the water pump failed. I got one from a breakers in UK, but it was the wrong type. Sadly I left the car in a local garage until a month ago when the proprietor asked me to move it to allow some building work. Very nearby I found a new garage, TallerBox who have mechanics and refinishers of the highest quality and after sourcing the correct water pump and having it fitted, the car was again running. I have decided to completely restore the car because it deserves it. There are likely to be a lot of questions and I look forward to hearing answers from those of you who know much more about these excellent cars than me. In the hope that it may be of some interest, I'll post the progress.

Thanks Graham,
Thanks for the advice and good to know there are so many people interested in Jaguar. Just one question, I see the car referred to as an XJ6 and XJ6/XJ40, how do I know exactly which model it is.

Jaguar used XJ6 for a number of models from the 1968 Series 1 through to the 1997 X300 and this is the badge that appears on the back of all of them!

For this reason, dealers use the factory model codes to distinguish between them. The forum follows the same system.

From the model year 1992, you should have an XJ40 manufactured from 1986 to 1994. Depending on spec, it can have either twin headlamps like this:

or single rectangular ones.
