Hello from United Arab Emirates
Hello,
my name is Rob.
I live in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates and bought last year in October a 2004 X350 3.6 base model, black on black, imported from Japan (left hand steering).
the car has only 100.000km, is accident free, but had several issues to deal with.
first I changed the headliner, several oil leaks (rear crankshaft oil seal, valve cover gasket, transmission pan, sparkplug seals), changed sparkplug and coils, both jurid disks, centre propshaft bearing and several vacuum leaks.
Transmission and torque converter rebuild, as it was damaged due to low oil levels and no oil change in 21 years. Now I have still vibration on engine speed between 1300 and 2000 rpm, so the torque converter will go in again for balancing...
It's an ongoing project, now the right hand catalytic converter failed (honeycomb structure collapsed) and tomorrow the converter will be sent to a local shop re coring the converter...
I came across this forum for great information about the car, to gather great tips in trouble shooting and use of the JLR SDD.
Back home IN Europe I own a Citroen DS23 ie, so I would say I'm technically inclined, but all those electronics are new to me and I was glad to trouble shoot gremlins like steering solenoid and passenger airbag light, still learning on the SDD...
That was my brief introduction, wishing every forum member a good day and would be happy if someone from UAE would connect with me here, spare parts and qualified workshops are very limited, there is very few X350 here driving around.
Have a nice day,
Rob

Hello, Rob,
Members in our X350 section will doubtless be able to help you with all these things, if you haven't already found your way there.
It looks like you won't be bored for a while, which is what these cars are actually for; Entertainment.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
