I have a 1998 XJR. Message is reading Boot Open with red light on. I have frozen meat in the trunk. Have tried everything with the key and to manually open the trunk with the key. No go. Taking back seat out......hit the wall. HELP!!!!

 

It will either be the " door ajar switch" in the lock mechanism or a broken wire in the loom by the hinge.

Thanks my friends. I just cut a small hole behind the rear licence plate. The rod came off. That's all it was.
