Help just got this Jagar 2000 model stype 3.0l need help please
Okayokay so I've got my brother's jaguar and it is been sitting for about 4 years just got it back the problem is is that we replaced the battery and the floor automatic gear shifter cuz it was broken now we went to start the car there's power going to the car but it will not no crank no start what do I need to do. I think that the key has a malfunction in the program does anybody know if that will cause a no crank no start??
Also the car has new motor new transmission new suspension and brakes and rotors. But my brother went to federal prision and the feds just released his car .
It was all Tore up and they broke the floor shifter where it won't go out of park. So replaceing that plus brand new battery. No crank no start by where should I start

Welcome.
The S Type people in that Tech Section will know.
I do know that both mine have "moments" when reconnecting teh battery, and a simple "lock.unlock" cycle with the fob puts the planets back in alignment.
The damage to get the car in a state to be moved may have upset many modules etc, so ONE at a time, and systematically is going to be the path me thinks.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forum Craig,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. I've merged you two posts and removed thestrikethrough on the first.
As Grant wrote in post #2, you need to approach this systematically. If the new battery is giving power to the lights etc and the remote fob is working (locking/unlocking the vehicle), the problem is likely to be with the transmission shift. There is an interlock normally released by pressing the brake pedal when starting the vehicle. If this interlock is not working it would explain why there is no crank.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
I've added vehicle details to your forum Signature to help others to give relevant advice. If you want to amend this, go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
