Default Jagar S type global locking

Global locking/closing.*
Jaguar stype 2001
The car opens evrythng when the unlock button is held on the transmitter but it doesnt closes or locks the vehicle if the lock button is kept held.*
The sunroof nd windows can b closed by the putting the key in the lock and rotating it in the locking direction.*
Strange; everythng opens up when unlock button is held bt the opposite doesnt occur

If you have a spare fob does that work, I suspect that the button has failed you can buy new buttons, but you would need to be able to use a soldering iron, but you could try just cleaning the button first with a good electrical contact cleaner or with some meths on a cotton bud

I'm not sure that global closing works on the pre 2002.5 models as they didn't have the safety mechanisim fitted.
I could be wrong.
If it is fitted it needs to be dealer activated.

I could be wrong but the poster seems to be saying the remote will not lock the car? let alone global close

The carvis fitted with global lock/close.
The key does this function. It can global open and lock/close the car if it us inserted in the key hole and held in the respective positions for the said functions.
The remote is functioning well. I believe that the closing button is working since it locks and double locks the vehicle.

That is how it is supposed to work, I should have said global closing from the fob only works after 2003.

The halogen headlamps are nt adjusting by the adjusters on the assembly. I guess they are broken nw. The left headlamp is far too high.
The thumbwheel located inside the car at the lower left of the steering wheel is i guess nt adjusting the headlamps. How do i knw that i have auto headlamp adjustment function.
Can i put an oem xenon headlamps from a s type having them.

I need o wire my autodimming mirror. I have replaced tye screen. Just need to give power to the mirror so it is on.

The rear left door lock stucks when locked or unlocked from the key or the remote. I guess its too hard to be moved by them. It is okay if i manually lock or unlock.
Pls do post solutions or appropriate links
