Default help needed

I have a 2005 Jaguar X type Wagon
T was working on the engine doing plugs and sensers . The day was almost over I closed the hood. A few days later I could not get the hood to pop.
I have seen the you tube on how to manual one it from under the car. I can get my hand on the drivers side and move the lever nothing happens.
I can reach the passenger side with a long screwdriver and move it nothing happens. the hood is completely closed. I can move the levers all the way over.
What can I try next?

That's the prettiest X-wagon I've seen. Very nice.
