Hi everybody, new member here.
I decided to finally join the forum because I was looking for information on how to remove my XJ8 ac compressor. I did not find much on that topic so I decided to join and perhaps do a write up of the process, if it has not been done already. If a write up on this has been done on this already I would love to hear about.
I have had my 2001 XJ8L for several years now and have been gradually been fixing all the loose ends to get it back to tip top shape. I was surprised to learn that my car was a low production model being a long wheel base car in base level trim. According to Nigel Thorley's book "Jaguar: All the Cars", only 148 lwb cars in base level trim were made. Most of the lwb cars were made in higher grade trims such as Vanden Plas. Kind of a nice surprise there.
I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Hello,
If you haven't already found your way there, someone will be along shortly to direct you to the correct section where you can get help for that AC compressor.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks for the encouragement. Should I do the write up here, or in the X308 section? I did find this thread "01 XJR AC Compressor removal". Would that be a good place for it, or is this worthy of a new thread? Still learning the way around the forum.
Definitely a new thread in X308 forum is the best option.
I can see you've already found your way to the X308 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region.
Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.
Enjoy the forums.
