Hi fellow Jaguar lovers.....
I've been a fan of Jaguar cars ever since my father sold our wonderful 1959 Armstrong Siddeley Star Sapphire, and bought a Jaguar Daimler in the late Sixties. Since then we had two Daimler XJ6's, one Jaguar XJ12, after which I moved to Saabs (3 x 9000, we still have the third one a 1996 CSE Turbo, Missing a Jaguar I bought in 2002, a 1999 XJR V8 Supercharged. It had 18,500 miles on the clock and the previous owner was jauguar cars and one day i entered "Home" into the Sat. Nav,, and the car started driving me to browns lane, where it was built.
On researching its history , I discovered it was taken of the production line, with every conceivable extra inc.sun roof, and fitted with the first ever Brembo brakes. It was then shipped to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, and the brakes were really tested hard with success, as in 2000, they were fitted to all new XJ Jaguars. But the discs were almost melted on to the wheels when I had to change then at 40k miles, and the front wing panels rotted due to salt build up underneath!
I pestered jaguar for years to build an electric car, to no avail, so i bought one of the first Tesla model s cars in 2016, a 214 import, which is my main car and I love. The XJR is my spare car, doing under 500 miles a year.
I then went hybrid with two Honda cars Civic hybrids 2007 & 2008, (the first was written off by a Land Rover skidding into me on ice
