I joined to ask a little advice about my Jag, I will save that for the relevant section.
I have always liked large cars and fast cars and often move between small fast / big luxury. But love just about all cars! As I'm sure you all do.
JLRs I have owned have been Range Rover Classics, A P38 Westminster, XJ X351, Defender and currently my two cars L322 Vogue Se and the XJR (X350).
I went down the cheap luxo barge route for a little bit, had a 735i, 740i, 745i, couple of LS400s, a S320 which were all interesting in their own ways.
So the current XJ! I love it. Bit of a project. It was a bit neglected when I got it so have been slowly doing what I can when I get time.
To begin it had a restricted performance warning when pushed. A little digging lead me to the secondary coolant pump for the supercharger cooler. Replaced it with the uprated one you can get on eBay and that was sorted.
My next issue was a leaking gearbox pan, which I had my local garage replace. Which was a mistake! It started changing horribly, just all over the place. So I took it to a gearbox specialist and they replaced a gasket between the valve body and some thing else. Back to normal, shifts great again.
Other than servicing and replacing budget tyres, I am pretty much there. I can now work on the cosmetics, as its such a fabulous blue! Get the alloys refurbished, which I have not done before, so I am looking forward to that.
I have attached so a couple of pictures of my current and previous car combos for your enjoyment!! 😊
It sounds like you've already found your way to the relevant model forums so there's no need for any links from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of each is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
