Default Hi from Hervey Bay QLD AUS

Hi all,
I've been a Jag/Daimler fan all my life and am looking to purchase a Jag or Daimler on a small initial budget and fix up if necessary. I really like the XJ's from around 1989-1995. Beautiful shape and interior, particularly the Daimler.
I'm currently investigating a 1989 XJ with 180k on the clock which wont go out of first gear. I cannot get there at the moment due to the pandemic and travel restrictions. Is the "stuck in first gear" a common issue and are they able to be DIY or better to get a transmission/Jag specialist?
Thanks, Mark

Welcome to the forums Mark,

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-i-ii-iii-16/ to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I,II & III forum for help, advice and information on the original 1968-1992 XJ's and this one https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj40-xj81-25/ to the XJ40 forum for the 1986-1994 replacement model. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of each is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Australia - Queensland Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...queensland-92/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
