I bought a jaguar XJ8 4.ltr last summer on a bit of a whim. The problem is I'm getting rather attached to it
To cut a long story the breather connection to the engine is broken. Any advice on how to go about fixing this would be much appreciated
I can't decide if your photo is showing the elbow on the camshaft cover that's broken (the photo below is an undamaged elbow on my 2001 XK8) or part of the broken breather pipe still attached?
If it won't glue back together then a used replacement from one of the specialist Jaguar breakers is the lowest cost fix option.
unfortunately its not part of the pipe. its the top of the camshaft cover.
It would be possible to source suitable diameter plastic pipe from a plumbers merchant and fabricate a repair sleeve but the easiest option is a used replacement. I found listings on ebay UK using "RIGHT CAMSHAFT COVER Jaguar XJ8 XK8" as the search term.
