I Love This Forum....
Hello to All. My name is Ron I have been reading this Forum for just over 2 years. It has been of a Great help to me learning how to take care of the 2000 XJ8L I purchased at that time. I feel in Love with that car and now I have found a New Mistress. I have been searching for a Convertible since the day I fell for the XJ8L. I am a Truck Guy No doubt. But these Jags are of such Luxury that it is Easy to fall for them. Let me introduce my Mistress. I have been Blessed to run into a 1998 XK8 with 27,000 Original Miles. She is Absolutely Gorgeous!!!! I thought the XJ8 brought attention. Well Nothing Like the XK8!!!

Welcome to the forums Rons,
Did you keep the XJ8L or PX it?
After two years reading, you won't need any links from me. Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.

I did the same vehicle change as you. Went from a black 2000 XJ8L Sovereign to a 2001 XK8. However, Convertibles aren't too much use in England so mine was a Coupe.
I followed this with another 2005 XK, a 2007 XK and my current 2014 XK.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the XK8 Convertible. We'll not see anything like them again from Jaguar now they appear to be moving towards bland hybrids.

Thank You Elinor for your Congrats. I have been looking for this car for 2 years and I knew the moment I laid eyes on her she was going home with me. It wasn't the Red as much as the Condition. But no doubt she is Gorgeous. I am so Pleased to have run across such a Beautiful Specimen. She Drives Every bit as Good as she Looks. This Jag was part of a Gentleman's Collection here in Florida. He owned 12 cars in all. I was told that his pride and joy was his Prowler another Beautiful car. Parked right next my XK8 was another Jaguar XK8 Coupe and just beyond that was another impressive car 1985 450sl Convertible of a Metallic Brown color that I don't believe I had ever seen before. This XK8 I have been Blessed to become the owner of had only been driven 1,100 miles in the previous 16 years of my ownership. I have only just purchased the car but trust me she will be seeing the light of day much more in the coming years. Thank You Again Elinor it has been my Pleasure.

The Florida sunshine should make that easier than the English rain!
However, several members have reported issues with seat trim cracking and dash veneer fading from the hot sun so take care.
