Default intro

yes I'm a car nut and just switched from Mercedes to Jag. Current ride is 2 1998 Vanden Plas.I just bought the 2nd for parts but it's too nice to cannibalize, 1 owner 89k miles and of course needs a tranny. I've owned many cars and loved my 87 XJ6. I've had Bently,Ferrari,BMW,Range Rover plus many others, just kinda in love with the 98 Vanden Plas, a fantastic ride,I just better stock up on tranny's.

Default Jag in my blood

I hope this does not break forum rules.Just a quick old story. My Dad in 1954 bought a brand new 54 XK 120.Unfortunately he rolled it over many times in some S curves in our little town.He had his brother and best friend in the car ,the top was down and no seat belts so they were all thrown clear and unhurt. He never wore a seat belt ever after that. The issue was the car had serious damage and it took a year to get the parts to fix it.I found his ticket in and old box in the 70's,the patrolman became Police Chief and always hated my Dad. Dad got out of it blaming it on the soft shoulder of the road.My Dad was always as 'Sade' sings,'A Smooth Operator'

Wearing seat belts didn't become compulsory in the UK until 1983. I'd had my licence since 1967 and hated having to wear them!

Default removing drivers seat on 98 Vanden plas

what is invoved,i'm going to bring it back to new,it is trashed but i found a company in London,I used their products for a Mercedes steering wheel that "couldn't be fixed" it looks like new now.I am in the process of using their products to restore to 'new' my 98 Vanden Plas irreparable seats. The company name is 'leather repair company UK' I DO HOPE TO REPRESENT THEM IN NORTH AMERICA,they are that good !!!
