Default introduction

Hi everyone my name is Kevin and i live in Blackpool on the north west coast of UK, my car is a 2006 x type 2.2 D S which i have had for the past three years. I am a retired 67 year old male who also tries to play golf (badly) but still love trying,i am not terribly mechanically minded but do what i can (changing bulbs etc ) i have already had help from the forum in this direction and for that i am very grateful, incidentally does anyone know what the trims at the bottom of the windows on the outside are called and were i could get them as one of mine is starting to bubble ? thanks in advance.

Hi Kevin, welcome to the forum but are you sure it's a 1956 X type?

Welcome to the forum Kevin,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

The trim on the outside of the window at the bottom is called a Waist (Rail) Finisher.

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Default Just bought my x-type, You were helpful even before I joined

Hi Everyone,

I have have been looking for a new to me car for a while. I wanted something that looked good, had some prestige and would be easy to fix it I needed to. Thanks to you and this forum I finally settled on the x-type. I purchased a 2003 with 126K and have loved driving it the past few days.

I had searched the forum looking for common problems and fixes. Thanks to many of you and people like Thermo, the decision to buy a jaguar was an easy one. My only regret was that I wish I has looked more deeply into replacing the oil pan gasket $$$$. I look forward to sharing if I can and picking your brains on the "what nexts" that may come.

ddsand

BTW anyone know a good jaguar mechanic in Utah?
