Jaguar admirer from afar
Hello. Per the forum rules, this is my introduction post as a new member. I've been a long-time British car enthusiast. The first car I ever drove on a public roadway was a MGB at age 13. I've long admired Jaguars, mostly from afar. In a workshop space that I used to share with other like minded car buddies there was a handsome Series I XKE and a XJ6C. Personally, I'm on the lookout for a X300, X308 or maybe even an X358 for my next car. Stylistically, I prefer the X300 the best but they're getting a bit long in the tooth these days so I might go for a X358 if I can convince myself that it will be reliable and economical enough for me to enjoy.

Welcome to the forum freedomgli,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I wouldn't write off the idea of an X300 because it's getting long in the tooth. A well maintained X300 is a very good car and generally more reliable than an early X308. Whichever model you choose, a complete service history proving regular maintenance is crucial with any used Jaguar.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of the X300 and X308 tech forums will give you information on regular model issues.
Good luck finding the right Jaguar for your needs and enjoy the forums.

Welcome.
X300 are NOT long in the tooth down here.
I agree with your observation, they are an awesome model, and soooooo reliable, even today, as they mature gracefully.
My recently departed X300 3.2ltr has 210000kms on it, and is as strong as ever in every way.
