Wink Jaguar lover in Australia

Hi all
I've just moved to Australia from England - and I bought my Gold S-Type Jag with me. It's still at the shipping yard getting valued, taxed, quarantined - and all that! Can't wait to bring her home.
By the way anyone thinking of importing a car from England - I HIGHLY recommend it!
My car is worth in Australia 2.5 times what I paid in London!! Yes I've paid a lot in shipping fees and taxes, but I still come up trumps. Best of all, although I had to get rid of 80% of my possessions in the move, I got to keep my beloved "Goldie" - and when people here find out I have a Jag - wow - instant respect! Jags are like the ULTIMATE in cars in Australia.

Welcome to the forum ILoveMyGoldJag,

I understand Australian vehicle import regulation can be a bit of a nightmare. Good to know the increased value more than compensates although I doubt you're thinking of selling!

Follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type section for help, advice and information.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the Australia/New Zealand Region section by following this link Australia / New Zealand - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your part of the World.

Best wishes for your new life in Australia.

Enjoy the S-Type and the forum.

Graham

Welcome to "downunder", AND the forum.

Winter salt will no longer cause you any issues. Just the heat and bushfires, depending on where you step down.

It is easier to bring with you, as you say, but near impossible to bring as a car only as in a "private import". The pollies have all but scuttled that idea last I looked into it.

ENJOY

Default Thanks!

Thanks everyone for your advice. It's good to meet other Jaguar enthusiasts. No-one else I now is fortunate enough to own a Jag!
