Default locked out in perfect storm

I read that rough shift between 1st & 2nd could be corrected by re-boot of tcm by disconnecting battery cables and connecting them for 10 mins. car was on street and I came back to find trunk was closed.Only have valet key which will not manually open @ emblem .I understand dealer can supply new key,but can it be programmed with leads crossed,Cannot get pit out of my stomach cause it haunts me that the foresight of placing rag etc. across latch should have crossed my mind

under the bonnet, there is another battery terminal point that you can use to get power to your car, thus the boot release.

Please get yourself a REAL black key and a key fob...I know, but you'll feel safer afterwards.

the porpoise will assist you to the shore, your prosperity is their reward. The shark sees you as opportunity. I came to this site to resolve several issues with a 99 xj8. I have several years old school garage experience. But have been fixing houses for the last 20+ years. Learning how to navagate a forum is by far my toughest challenge. This is by far the most welcoming and helpful site I ever joined.Thank you norri/H20 boy/jimc64. not only for your advice, but your patience. The bottom line is if i get a black key for christmas will that mechanically open the trunk @emblem slot as my battery leads are crossed to reset pcm. P.S Jimc64 I've been a naughty boy i need to be sent to your Audi's room.

Welcome to our world. The black key is the master key and will manually unlock the trunk etc.

There is also a method for manually opening the trunk, have a search in the X300 sections. Use trunk release as your search string.

Best of luck.

Welcome to the forum!

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.
