Long awaited intro
Hi
My name is James and my son Edward and I are huge Jaguar fans.
It started with my father, he also loved Jags and Daimlers but sadly never managed to own one. When he passed away a few years ago I decided to get one from my inheritance and live the dream of ownership that he never did.
I joined the forum about 3 years ago and have been gaining a lot of great info ever since, but in all this time I had forgotten that I had not introduced myself.
We live in the Salisbury area of the UK and own 2 (about to be 3) Jaguars.
1999 XK8 4.0 Coupe - Sapphire - Kept stock but upgraded timing chains, tensioners, guides, water pump, thermostat housing.
1999 XJ8 4.0 Sovereign - Seafrost - Acquired recently at a very low price in order to save from the scrap yard. Needs lots of welding but the rest in good shape. I checked and to my relief, it has upgraded timing chains, tensioners, guides.
2004 - S Type R Black - Expecting. Needs some work, but looks solid enough. More on that later.
Non-Jaguar cars in the family:
1996 Range Rover P38 4.6 HSE - White, mostly stock, still going strong.
1986 Porsche 944 2.5 - Garnet Red - Needs lots of TLC, but at least it is not rotten and has a known good engine. Just need to finish it off. Owned for 20 years, off the road about 15 of them. The most unreliable car I have owned, but really like it and it's gradually going up in value.
Thanks
James (and Edward)

Welcome to the forums James and Edward,
Good to have you with us.
I can see you've already found your way to the X308 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. I've tidied up your "lift" threads so there's now only one version in UK & Eire Region forum.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
