looking for a donor xkr 2006-2008
Hello everyone!
I joined this forum to hopefully find a donor xkr. I own a 2007 and totaled it. I bought the salvage back from the insurance company and I am now searching for a car that I can fix with the parts that I have. I have a complete drivetrain....so something with a bad motor or transmission would be ideal. My body parts are very limited. Here are a couple of pics of my car and the parked unoccupied crown vic that I hit. There was also a telephone pole involved which took out the left front of the Jag. I spun around and the right rear took out the crown vic. I am very impressed with how safe these Jags are......a very well built automobile for sure!

Welcome to the forum Anker,
That's some hit.
Engine/transmission failure was an issue with the earlier pre-2006 model XK8/XKR and we have many turn up on the forum looking for the opposite solution to you - they have a good body interior but need a replacement powertrain (especially on the 4.0 litre - development had got things right with the 4.2 litre).
The 2006 onwards XK/XKR has a much more reliable powertrain in 4.2 litre although some issues arose with the later 5.0 litre. The usual problem is accidental damage to bodywork. Bumpers are easy but apparently minor damage to the aluminium body can make it an uneconomical repair to an insurer. Even if you find one with a 'lightly' damaged body, repairs on aluminium bodywork are expensive and there's not too many specialists around will be prepared to take it on.
Best of luck to you. I'd certainly have walked away from this with the settlement from the insurer.
