Unable to find rear seat release in XF trunk.
I wanted to put the rear seat down to put a garden rake in the trunk. I looked in the owners manual and it showed a release on both sides but I could not find them. I see they were standard equip on some models. Mine is a 2013 XF.
Also I have a rattle in the rear door on the passenger's side.
Does any body have any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks, bobw

This is going to require you to lay in your trunk on your back, you'll need to remove the trim that you see here, and should see 2 holes, one each side. Inside you will find the latch, you'll need to manually release this with a screw driver or a pick, then you can fold the seat forward. If you don't have the release cables fitted, you might want to purchase them from the dealer so you don't have to do this again. It comes in a kit, 2 release cables and 2 new latches. You might be able to make something on your own if your inclined to do so. Hope this helps.
Word of advice, before you go laying down in the trunk, make sure you haven't upset the wife or anyone else, they might be tempted to lock you in the trunk. =)

If equipped.
