Member from Rotterdam area, The Netherlands/Europe.
I am visiting mostly, no, only the S-TR topics. -I need to learn.
For over a year I was looking to buy a face lift model S-TR.
Most wanted colour: all, except black. (you never guess what I have..)
Must have champagne colour leather, with dark piping, dark wooden dash and a sunroof.
Cars are extreme expensive in The Netherlands. VAT, CO2 tax, luxurious tax. Think about + 40% and for heavy mussel (sports) cars even more.
Therefore, you see a lot of small cars with powerless engines. = cheap.
But also a minimum of luxe, and no extra’s: the tax weight works progressive.
So, what to do: buy a second hand car in Germany, luxury cars are much cheaper than in my country. Younger and better maintained.
Or buy a car in Switzerland.
In 15 years, the CO2 tax goes from 100 % down to 0%.
I imported the X from Germany, and the STR I have bought in Switzerland.
A lot of paperwork + a bit 😊 of tax to pay.
Sind’s a month the car a have license plates, Safety check, so the car is road legal.
Now I must plan oil change, filters, you know the ordinaire stuff.
We are now grounded because of Covit.
I hope around Christmas I can go to the UK, to do some performance upgrades: smaller S/C upper pulley, Caldoofy inlet pipe and remap.
Now in the garage are:
Serie III double six, 1986
S-type, 3.0 litre executive 2003, Linda’s little van.
S-TR, 2007, imported from Switzerland.
And some old Saabs.
Recently sold my X estate, and Daimler 308 SuperV8.
Kind regards,
Jaap van ‘t Hoff
Many thanks for all the tips and tricks I have read over here.

Welcome to the forums Jaap,
You have certainly had to travel to find your Jaguars!
I can see you've already found your way to the relevant model forums so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of each is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
