Smile Need Convertible Top Lines & Rams Replaced

Hello all...Robert Milford here. I live in Springfield, VA and I just retired after 41 years of Federal Service (26 military & 15 civilian). I have a convertible 2000 XKR that I just love, but like me her bones are beginning to erode! She is in need of new lines and and rams (cylinders) for the hydraulic convertible top. Before I delve out a substantial hunk of change, would love to chat with someone who's been down this path.

welcome to the forum - the X100 section - https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/ would be the best place to gather all the info on replacing hose, etc for the top. It is not too difficult of a DIY - I replaced the hoses on my 2000 XK8 shortly after I got her. I purchased the hose set from Cabriolet Hydraulics out of Florida - much better hoses than OEM. Others have used Top Hydraulics (also much better than OEM) Not sure if Cabriolet Hydraulics can refurbish the rams but I know Top Hydraulics can.

Enjoy

Steve....thank you albeit a very late reply. Contemplating a DIY to replace the hoses and rams. Thought I could go the manual route, but having trouble manually retracting the top.
