New and Excited!!
Hi everybody,
A quick post to introduce myself in what I hope is a long and fruitful relationship.
I have for a variety of reasons just purchased myself an S-Type V6 MY2000 64,000 miles on the clock and silver with a full SH but insurance Cat N write-off for £500 (pictures provided showed minor rear bumper damage, all repaired)
I say for a variety of reason as, I'm currently getting divorced and have no money so a cheap car was essential. My current/previous temporary car 2004 mini-cooper S got written off by a chappie trying to squeeze his land-cruiser past me on a roundabout.
The S-Type was on Facebook market place and listed with an uneven idle issue and was only 20 miles away so I went for a look... I drove it and it was excellent, but with as advertised the idle truly was all over the place.
I have now with the help of google and forum browsing replaced the lower vacuum hose and all is happiness and light, or at least improved as there still seems a very slight unevenness to idle - I am hoping to start driving it next week.
Once of the other reasons I got the car was I am actually hoping to get an S-Type R and thought that this would be a good low cost intro to the model (although a completely different beast)
I have previously owned a V12 XJS about 20 years ago so it is long overdue for me to come back to the marque!
best wishes
Steve
