Default New to Forum & recent ‘06 XJ8 L Owner

Hello everyone.

My mates call me Imperial.

I am new to car forums and also just purchased a 2006 XJ8 L. It is currently at a Jaguar Only Shop for some repairs and Maryland State Inspection.

The shop told me today that it doesn’t need new brakes…maybe I should let them know it’s shudders at certain speeds when I brake?

I am not really a car guy but I want to keep this car for as long as I can; hopefully ‘forever’.
I did as much research as I could and searched a five hundred mile radius. It took me a couple of months before I found and purchased the one I have. It was about a four hour drive away but I believe worth it.

I look forward to learning and meeting new people. I reached out to the Nations Capital Jaguar Owners Club but haven’t heard back from them yet about Membership. If anyone in the DMV area ever wants to meet up let me know. I am hoping I can get a coupe as well but first I really want to take care of this one. I am trying to decide what to do first. Any suggestions or advice is more than welcome.

Cheers
