Default New to forum and requiring JTIS for s-type 2001 download to Mac

Hi every-one,

Chuck from Australia. I currently have a 2001 S Type V8. I say currently as having issues as we speak
Have just replaced the seals around the plugs, yet on a test drive the engine has stopped and will now not start. Thinking timing chain at present, which brings me to my first question. Apologies if i should start a new thread, new to forums. I use a mac and have tried downloading the JTIS links from other members here yet after a week still unable to transfer into files that the apple will display. Any members here that have access to JTIS in mac readable files for me to copy as would like to make sure what i am pulling off is correct and if it would be easier to remove the whole motor first up. Running latest OS X 10.9.5,
Thanks in advance for any links provided.
Chuck.

Welcome.

No idea on the Mac. I have it on my laptop with Windows 8.1 and it dont work, so I dont bother.

Someone more IT savvy will drop by eventually and answer the question.

The top tensionetrs were an issue on the early V8's, but I believe that by 2001 they were sorted??. If it cranks over and dont start, it aint the chains. If they get out of synch the engine is jammed.

I would be looking at something you would have disturbed to do what you just did.

Welcome to the forum Chuck,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Can't help with Mac as I've never used them although I can get JTIS to work on every iteration of MS operating systems.

Follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

G/Day All, Can anyone advise me if a 2005 S Type 4.2 litre engine and 6 speed transmission will go into a 2000 S Type which had a 4litre engine without having to change to much?? Thanks.

Chuck,

I don't recall S-Type owners posting about this powertrain transplant but some X308 owning members have done it successfully. Worth a search or a post in X308 tech forums for advice. The necessary electronics changes have to be similar.
