and not yet received.

Not sure how many of you were following the recent XK8 auction on Bring a Trailer here: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...r-xk8-coupe-4/

But I'm the lucky (I hope) winner. This is my first Jaguar and I've wanted one for ages. For all the poor responses by the seller (and the awful leaper on the hood) I'm hoping to have a fun time with the car once I get it!

Hello, Mike,
Congratulations (hopefully) on your First Jaguar!
I agree, the Leaper on a modern Jag (anything newer than about 1964) is an Awful cluttering up of the Beautiful, sleek lines Sir William envisioned,
I'm not alone in that opinion here, but I'm certainly in the minority.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

I'll agree I'm not a fan, but it is what it is. I've already begun looking for a red replacement hood but I can live with it until then.

I've seen them mounted where the growler is so that the leaper points down and I definitely think if you -have- to put a leaper on the hood maybe this is a better option in the middle of the hood/bonnet?

Maybe I'll get lucky and it's there with adhesive and not drilled through - but I doubt it!

Just received and checked the tensioners immediately as there was no info on them being done.

(pause for effect)

It has the new style metal bodied tensioners!
