New Jaguar owner
Hey guys
my names Justin and I’m from norther Connecticut. I’ve owned quite a few cars in my life but this is the first British one.
Just picked up a 1984 Jaguar XJS SE from a local in the town I live in. The car hasn’t seen the light of day in about 12 years. 52k miles with the paint and interior in great shape. Only real issues are a small hole in the drivers seat and the headliner. I haven’t tried to start it yet, going to get all the fluids checked and get the fuel tank drained first. Last owner says they only parked it because they got a new car and they “forgot” about it. Hoping that’s the case.
I’ve always liked these cars but have never gone out of my way to purchase one, this one just kinda fell into my lap. Any advice about this car will be greatly appreciated. I’m not sure if this is a keeper for me or not but I had to save it from going to pot sitting in that garage.

Welcome to the forums Justin,
Good to have you with us.
I can see you've already found your way to the XJS forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
