Hello I finally purchased a car for my wife her dream car . We own a honda Element and a Chevy Volt. I used to own a 2005 Boxster S which I loved very much. I have been looking on and off over the years for a XK8 with low miles and sapphire Blue with Ivory interior Convertible. I found one with 44K but the paint is not perfect and the interior is not as well. I will probably replace the leather front seats down the road and recondition the rest. I bought a car without documentation of services . I have to go thru the most important things first. I replaced in the past month Front brakes and rotors and shocks and upper shock mounts and front tires. I also had a 4 wheel alignment done. I have a P1000 code so I will have to deal with that.

I also replaced the center console and shift trim plates I have been reading the forum for month now and find it a great source of information on my car. There are member that have done a great service by showing how to repair items that are part of ownership and making video's I find invaluable.

I also own motorcycles and guitars actually I build guitars. I look forward to passing on any knowledge I garner from ownership of this Jag and I do appreciate the forums knowledge base.

Welcome to the forum Dawgwalker,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

P1000 is a status not an error. It means OnBoard Monitoring Tests have not been completed since the last memory clear. This changes to P1111 when the tests are complete. You will always see one or the other of these codes.

I know you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
