I am a new member who likes to work on project cars. For the last 20 years or so I have been involved with Porsches, buying, selling, repairing, building and racing. I recently sold my last Porsche and was looking for a new project. I found a 2002 XKR convertible that was a theft recovery and partially stripped. I have replaced - repaired the following components and it now runs like a top.
1. Cats missing – bought high flow cats (Nameless Performance) and installed along with new O2 sensors
2. Transmission missing – replaced with used unit (Lexiautoparts)
3. Left front ball joint worn out – replace lower control arm (JagBits)
4. A/C lines missing – replace lines and dryer and charged system
5. Detailed paint and repainted front valence
6. Seats gone – replaced (passenger side seat module not functioning)
7. Tires worn out – replaced with P-Zeros
8. Replaced both fuel pumps (water in tank)
9. Myriad of small parts replaced
10. Nav screen missing – replaced
The car is missing the charcoal filter and all associated parts on the driver side. The car runs fine without them but the check engine light stays on Can someone give me some guidance on this. What parts do I need and how are they interconnected. I am looking forward to being on the Forum and sharing my experiences. Thanks Ron

Welcome to this friendly forum from another XKR convertible type.
You certainly are a brave man to take that amount of work on.
Can I suggest you navigate to the XK8/R section
XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
and post your question there.
To get the best help put your car's details in your signature.
Good luck

Thanks for the information. I plan to straighten out the evap problem as soon as I have access to a lift again. Now that the major problems have been addressed I plan to replace the radio with a modern unit with Bluetooth.

Default Evap system and misc

I finally got access to a lift and installed a new left side charcoal canister and integrated it into evap system.. I cleared all the codes and I am now waiting to see if they come back. Recently purchased 3 gauge trim and 3 gauge module to replace useless nav screen. Blue tooth radio upgrade on hold until warmer weather.
