Hi Guys

I am in my 70s and have just bought a 2004 S-type 2,5 for £200 Stg with a16000 miles and a few error codes.

One error shows an ABS fault on the rear right. I've cleaned the gunk in the reluctor ring and cleaned the sensor but error persists.
I have downloaded the EPC which is great BUT it stops before my VIN.
My Vin is SAJAC01N54JN02087 but on looking up the part number for the abs sensor it stops at From VIN (L86902) To VIN (M45254)

What do I do now?

Thanks,

Brian

Welcome to the forums Brian,

Good to have you with us. I have a 2018 copy of JEPC and it shows the same VIN range so there may be no later change in the part number. Members in S-Type forum will have the answer.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

From one S-type owner to another... Welcome. The S-type forum is populated with a very friendly group and contains a wealth of knowledge.

If you go to the "stickies" section of the S-type forum, there is a link for a download of the SNG Barratt's digital catalogue, or you can search for your part number on-line here:

Well! Thanks for all your warm welcomes. Also thanks for the pointers and advice.

The first thing I did was buy the iCarsoft L1 - it cost me 55% of the cost of the car which cost £200 stg.
Next give her a new battery - last one was hovering around 12V.
A new rear sensor should get rid of the ABS problems and, I hope, related issues.
That leaves me working on P1549
P1549
Stored
Variable induction system 1 low/high input./Intake manifold communication control A: circuit malfunction.

Again - loved the warm welcomes.

Brian
