New Member, First Time Jag Owner
I recently purchased my first Jaguar, a 2001 XJ8 VDP (anthracite metallic/cashmere) from a close friend. British cars seem to hold their beauty over decades of model changes. I think we call that 'Timeless'.
My XJ8 has 75,500 miles and seems to be very well taken care of with a folder of receipts, most of them in the last two years. I suspect the car is aging well but needed some attention, a new transmission was one of the main selling points. Will get to the timing chain issues very soon. It starts up immediately without any discerning noises/rattles and operates very smoothly.
Has some issues with lean banks and rough idle (CEL and restricted perf) but with the help of this forum I tracked a faulty cheap aftermarket ignition coil and a retired MAF sensor. Even though I didn't post any questions here I read the last 80 or so pages of threads to help me.
So THANK YOU to everyone that helped me, even if they didn't know. I am only somewhat mechanically inclined but can already see that Jaguar owners are very friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help!!
Thank you, Michael (Ohio)

Welcome to the forum Michael,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the X308 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
