new member - Italy
I tested today a Jag xjr - year 1999 - km 106.000.
I noted that the brake pedal must be pushed few time before the gearbox lever can be realized from P position. Is this normal?

I located in Italy a Jag xjr v8 - year 1999 - and wish to buy it from the present private
Owner.
While testing the car I noticed that the gearbox lever cannot be moved from P position unless pushing several times the brake pedal.
Can anybody give his advise about this fact? tks

NO - that is not normal. The transmission shift (gearbox lever) interlock should release with one firm press on the brake pedal. You must keep your foot on the brake to move the lever from P to D.
