New member, NC, '03 S type R
How do all.
Looking forward to learning a bunch, and hopefully contributing on occasion.
Have recently purchased an '03 S type R, and thus far, I'm cautiously optimistic.
The new car and I failed to get started on the correct foot - "limp home" is entirely a misnomer in my book, in particular as I was some 850 miles from home.
That said, I'm looking forward to getting this ride tip-top, and eliminating gremlins to the best of my ability.
I will likely do some more searching, and post questions when I start digging in.
Cheers,
Jar, in NC

Hey Jar, welcome to the forums, as Cadillac mentioned the STR guys in the S section are very knowledgeable! Where are you located in NC? We are just over the boarder. south of Charlotte.
Looks like you've got some close jaguarforum neighbors, good luck getting the STR out of limp mode. Here's hoping it's something relatively simple!

Thanks for the welcome folks.
As for "hoping it's something relatively simple" - you and me both.
I think I have a bit of a leg up, because I have a strong dealer history on the car, and when it happened (on my way from WI to NC after purchase), the Peoria, IL dealer was able to pull off the clean and silicone seal the TPS to get me going.
I'll likely post some questions in the S-type section soon, perhaps relate a bit of my story (IL cornfields are big and why are there live .45 cal bullets on this road?), and with some help and advice put a plan of action together to address what I hope can be a handful of owner implemented solutions.
I will say that my dealer experience thus far (2), has been exceptional as far as I am concerned.

Welcome! Me and my S-type are in the Va Beach area now. I don't know when we'll be going back to Texas. I have used the information posted here on several occasions and once to use as a sounding board as I worked through a problem. I've had no dealer interaction since Checkerd Flag in VA Beach left the bolts loose on the engine undertray after an oil change and it fell off on the interstate. So good luck and have fun.

Yah, the board definitely seems like it has a wealth of info - in particular as detail from the manufacturer/aftermarket seems a bit thin.
Thus far, my dealer experiences have been more of the "necessary" variety, rather than the "desired". But, like I said, both have seemed to be reasonably well in tune with the breed, which in my book is a good place to start.
