New member in Pa. (2009 XF bent wheels)
Greetings to all,
As a long time Jaguar admirer I finally took the plunge. First let me thank all the knowledgeable and generous members of this forum. There is no question you all have been beyond helpful as I was searching for the right one and surely saved me from ending up disappointed.
So I found a 2004 XJ with 90k in restricted performance mode. Cosmetically it is in great shape and obviously well loved. Jag dealer tells the owner it needs a throttle body at $3,200. With the knowledge I gained in this forum I offered 3k and got it. First thing I did was checked the battery, it was 6 years old and not holding a full charge. Replaced it and all systems have been working normally for a week now. Problem solved?
Now having plenty left in the kitty I pulled the trigger today on an unloved 2009 xf for $7300. Got a thorough PPI prior to purchase and the list includes dash pulling up, touch screen flashing logo, rear axle seal, cracked wheel, bent wheels, upper ball joint and interior needs a serious cleaning. Already pulled drivers seat and found damp and corroded bluetooth module.
The only thing I haven't found any info on is the bent wheels. Dealer says all Jags have this problem and they can be trued up. Car drives straight and smooth at 80 mph. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could share any experience they have had with this.
Again, thanks to all who have unknowing assisted me as I've searched through an untold number of threads here. You're doing the Lord's work!
Cheers!

Hello, Joe,
I think "doing the Lord's work" is putting a bit too much importance on this place but it's nice that you appreciate what you've learned here.
You do seem to have made a couple Killer deals, certainly the XJ, and if you can get that XF properly sorted out you'll have quite a pair!
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
The new battery was a good call and is probably the answer with your X350.
Many Jaguars do have bent wheels from potholes and poor roads but it certainly isn't a fault with all Jaguars. Correct that they can usually be trued up.
It sounds like you've already found your way around the forums so there's no need for any links from me.

Thanks Graham, I'll definitely complete signature page when I get a chance. Also dealing with a learning curve as this is the first forum I've ever joined. On that note I have pulled blluetooth module and the part number apparently is for a range rover? Could use a little guidance on where to get help with that.
And thanks to all who have welcomed me.
